Update on Change Healthcare Cybersecurity Incident

What happened?
On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare Inc. (CHC), a service provider that processes health information for York Hospital and thousands of healthcare organizations in the U.S., became aware of a ransomware deployment in its claims and payment infrastructure. Once discovered, CHC quickly took steps to stop the activity, and disconnected and turned off systems to prevent further impact.

How was my data affected?
Change Healthcare is completing a review of impacted data containing protected health information (PHI) and is beginning to notify customers and individuals who have been affected. CHC has provided a HIPAA Substitute Notice to help individuals understand what happened and offer steps they can take to protect their privacy, including enrolling in two years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services, if you are concerned that your information may have been impacted.
